Sweep or use a Dry Swifter daily. vacuum the floor on a weekly bases. If you use an upright vacuum set the beater brush all the way up or floor mode. If you use a canister vacuum, hold the canister in one hand. A robot vacuum is great. Clean the floor with either Bona Wood Floor Care or you can make your own, by taking an empty Windex bottle, add 27oz of water, 4oz of white vinegar and 1oz of Windex with a terry cloth applicator. Clean the the floor about once a week after you vacuum or as needed.

To touch up scratches use a touch up marker that you can get at any hardware store or big box store, in the stain and paint aisle. Use a marker that is a little darker than the floor, follow the direction of the scratch. Than with a paper towel wipe off the excess with the grain to blend in the color.

Put felt tips on the bottom of any furniture that sits on the floor, so it wont scratch the floor.
