TIP
Are you looking to finish your basement, and want the look of a real hardwood floor, but have reservations because your basement maybe damp or wet. Will I have a few solutions for you. To start with instead of installing a solid hardwood floor, I would suggest a floating engineered hardwood floor with a moisture barrier underlayment. This will give you a real hardwood floor that has the stability of plywood. Or if you want a floor with a little less maintenance, then perhaps a floating laminate floor with a moisture barrier underlayment would suit you. This way you have the look of a hardwood floor or tile floor but you never need to recoat or refinish this floor like you would with the floating engineered hardwood floor. And if you have a basement with a known water problem, then I would suggest a floating luxury vinyl floor, because this floor is not made of wood or wood byproducts, so it is not affected by water or moisture so you will have less problems. The floating luxury vinyl floor comes in individual strips like both the floating engineered hardwood floor and the floating laminate floor. And like the floating laminate floor the floating luxury vinyl floor has the look of a real hardwood floor, it also has the feel of one too, because each plank has a 3D image stamped into the face, so you can see and feel the grainwork.Have a Great Week.
